In Corrine's Own Words

I have had a very sweet time with my mother this morning. There is no doubt she is tired and fading quickly, but she is at peace. She asked that I share with you what she feels and is thinking about today.
  • She wants her friends and family to know that "all is well with her soul"
  • She wants you to know that she is "excited to see Jesus, I'm getting closer"
  • And she asks that you "please forgive me for anything I've done that has been hurtful to you"

These moments bring life (and death) into focus so sharply and quickly. I think what my mom wants more than anything for us left behind is to experience a little more heaven here on earth. What that means is for us to have right relationship with God and with each other. Relationships are a gift from God that he so wanted us to enjoy and receive that He sent his only son, Jesus, to show us the way and to heal us so that we might know intimacy more fully with God and man. This is His gift to us, that we might be reconciled here on earth and begin to experience a taste of life here as it is in heaven. Right relationship is at the center of the secret to living life eternally, beginning today.

Until next time...

Steve

  1. Corrine,
Our prayers and love continue to flow to you, and your family. We are thankful for the good moments you are having with family.

Heb 13:5 or thereabouts from the "Message"
"Since God assured us, "I'll never let you down, never walk off and leave you," we can boldly quote, "God is there, ready to help; I'm fearless no matter what. Who or waht can get to me?"

    Love,
    Louie and Ruth

  2. Dear Corrine,

I am amazed at your spirit during this process and I know that it is the spirit of Jesus. There is no other explanation. I am smiling right now as I remember your enthusiasm to learn Spanish after we were just in Honduras together. Perhaps you will become fluent sooner than you thought, or perhaps you may have to study more than you thought. ;)

My prayers (and my wife's) are for God's grace and mercy during these times.

    Love,

  5. Good morning Corrine & kiddos,

Thinking of you all especially this morning, praying for extra strength and rest for each of you, as well as unexplainable joy and lots of laughter.

Aren't we blessed to have such caring friends and family (especially those grandbaby cherubs) to help cushion these changes!

Another 6 inches of snow here this morning but patches of blue sky finally visible, feels like we should be in Colorado!

    love, Lois & gang.

  6. Dear Corrine and family,
We are amazed by your faith in this journey and the example you are to all of us. Steve..your comments this morning are what we hear from our pastors etc...but you are all living this example. You are carrying on such a legacy that began with Grandpa Sam. We continue to pray and think of you constantly. We're here if you need us.

Corrine, we always always think of your wonderful laugh and how it can change the whole dynamic of a room. What a gift. You have blessed us in so many ways. We love you deeply.
    In Him-

  7. Corrine,
Although we haven't been able to see each other in several years, I have lots of fond memories of when we were together. I dont know if you remember, but at my wedding shower you won the game of who knew me best!!
I know that heaven is on your mind now and although we dont know exactly what it will be like, we do know that it will be wonderful beyond our ability to dream or faththom. You have lived a life that has prepared you and your family for the paradise that awaits those who have trusted in Jesus.
We are praying for peace for you and Angela, Steve and Don
    Love, Martha
